Festival CD's
This year there will be two festival CD's - one for Jazz and another for the Blues. We have just been sorting out the tracks and I think judging from the CD's, this year's festival will be the best ever. A really good mix of jazz and blues. The CD will be available on-line soon.

Aberjazz links
There is a nice bit about us on efestivals with links to our ticket page http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/aberjazz/2011
Friends of Aberjazz
We are in the process of launching a new Friends of Aberjazz group. It will be £10 to join and as a friend you will get at least 10% off all Aberjazz tickets and merchandising. This will also give you a discount to the "In the Basement" gigs upstairs in the Abergwaun. If we can get 25 members then this will pay for a band at the "In the basement" gig on 26th August during the festival.
If this takes off then we will be doing regular promotions for Aberjazz friends with free tickets as prizes. I will be adding this to our website www.aberjazz.com so that you can become a friend using Paypal. For more information just email info@aberjazz.com.

Fishguard Jazz and Blues festival
This year is the 8th Fishguard Jazz and Blues festival organised by Aberjazz. Aberjazz is a volunteer organisation committed to putting on live music events in and around Fishguard. Many of the events are free and we try to keep our ticket prices low for the ticketed events. Our venues are small so it is advisable to book early to make sure you get a ticket. All the details of the festival are on our website www.aberjazz.com where you can buy tickets if you have a Paypal account. The Jazz and Blues festival runs over the August bank holiday weekend from thursday 25th August until Monday 29th August. This year our headline act is the Kit Downes Sextet and they are playing in Theatr Gwaun on Monday at 6pm. Tickets are £12. Kit Downes was nominated for a Mercury Prize for his Album Golden. John Fordham in the guardian describes his latest album , Quiet Tiger, as stronger and more edgy. Kit Downes is a jazz pianist who is causing a great deal of interest in jazz circles and this is a really unique opportunity so see him in Fishguard.
